Castellane courtyard

Early in the evening in a courtyard with chestnut trees, just outside the center of Castellane, a small town in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department, southern France. I really liked the light and the colors here, but had doubts about the composition; should I include the only partially visible balcony railing and the window shutter on the right? I decided to include them, as I think they tell something more about the place without ruining the composition. Your comments are very welcome.

I don't know why, but when I saw this thumbnail you instantly popped into my mind, so I was right. I like this the way it is, good tones, texture, and color, and the silhouetted tree leaves really help the framing. Nice work Vincent. regards, Patrick

The warm evening lights grazing the wall on the right, which highlights the surface, and the high contrast , enhance the chromatism of the photo framed by the chestnut trees silohuette, a great shot as always, ciao Giangiorgio

In all honesty this image did not appear worthy of my clicking on the thumbnail but I did because it hinted of a mastery. After examining 's I realized it was executed by someone extremely skilledl. It is only after seeing it was your image that I understood. Brilliant work, Vincent.
