Unknown insect .This insect that I could not identify , (I thank those who can tell me the name), was photographed with Sigma macro 105mm optics on Nikon D300s camera, f / 6,3 , 1 / 1250sec, ISO 200. Thanks for your comments

Hmmm, you made this creature come alive with this image, Giangiorgio. To me, the fact that you couldn't identify it is unimportant. You captured its amazingly fine detail, which comes alive even more due to the soft flower in the background. Fine work. - - My best always, michael - - Ciao!

Very beautiful colors and light, Giangiorgio. A very unusual looking insect captured by your skills and timing. The insect stands out against the white flower. Wonderful composition and presentation. A fantastic capture. Have a great day, Paul.

Very nice macro. It seems to belong to the family of scoliid wasps, though I am not absolutely sure about it. Even if so, however, the family contains about 560 species., ciao Sandor

Very nice details and color rendition. What would you say is the main difference between Nikon's own 105 micro f/2.8 lens and the corresponding Sigma macro?

Hi Giangiorgio,

this photo is marvelous! It's vibrant and pin-sharp. You have used your lens optimally; I remember doubting between this Sigma and the Canon EF 100 mm 2.8 that I ultimately chose. Kind regards, Vincent
