tai 3 Posted May 16, 2019 Beautiful shot, Jack! Remarkably captured . This is probably Eris with the apple of discord. Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted May 19, 2019 Hello Jack: Not only is it a beautiful composition and romantic and dreamy gaze of this beautiful statue, but I am amazed at the degree of detail you managed to extract from the stone. I guess that by looking at the pores of the stone one can even believe it is a real woman painted white all over, posing for McRitchie Sama. DG Link to comment
peter.s 0 Posted May 21, 2019 Jack, I'm impressed by this for many reasons: the surface texture of the sculpture is almost tangible in this shot - great detail, also the different shades of white and near white are awesome. Did you have to play with lighting to get all this right, or did you post process a lot or ….? Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 23, 2019 Daniel, Peter - Belated thanks for your comments. I was surprised to see this classical sculpture in a back alley of Kobe. It seemed to have nothing to do with the nearby shops. Another of life's little mysteries. I took several shots from farther away and just this one from under the sculpture. The background was already pretty dark but I reduced it even further. I didn't have to do anything to the sculpture itself. I'll probably post another view of this sculpture if I can get the balance right. Link to comment
