Dreamy and quite representative of the restless sailors and endless sea.  I really like this one... Mike

Soft, calm, tranquil all come to mind while viewing this lovely image Tony. The long exposure really works great for this.

Best Always, Holger

Lovely scene and the long exposure and blue tones add a wistful sense of tranquillity.  Did you take two exposure one for the boats and another for the sea?

Best Regards

A dream like landscape Tony. The dark sand is the perfect canvas to draw the sunlight colors and the blurred movement of the water makes me hear the sound of the waves.

Mike (MLM), Holger, Alf, Patsy and Michail, Many thanks for your kind words.

Alf, I must have shot about 30 images of this location with small variations including some with a higher shutter speed, when the sun was still above the horizon, after it set, all water and no sand, etc.

These were captured 8 months ago and when I selected this one, I was somewhat beguiled by the fact that this is a 3 second exposure and the boats appear to be registered without motion. There is no combining of two images.

This is a single image.

I suppose if you shoot enough shots at a single location there is a possibility you will get lucky with one shot.  Also, I have learned that when you are shooting water scenes, go with a number of shots and that I learned by pointing my camera at a quickly moving stream with the camera set on a tripod, not changing any settings and finding differences in the image that would cause me to select one over another one.

All the best,

My eye is immediately drawn to the catamaran, as all lines converge there for me.  Wish I was on it right now!  There is movement in the masts, which is acceptable, but what surprises me is that the darkish wave at the upper third appears somewhat intact at 3 seconds exposure.  Must've been a special night.  Nicely done, Tony!

Thanks for the comments. While I like this image very much, I need to work on a bit of distortion correction but that will be another day.
