RAFAELTATO 0 Posted July 22, 2016 Nice creation of her ghost on a plain background wall with no view obstruction. Rafael Link to comment

Julie H 312 Posted August 23, 2016 To me this is visual karaoke: a mish-mash of imitations. As in karaoke, fun more for where it misses than for where it works. "Feeeeelings ... nothing more that feeeeeeelings ... " Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted August 23, 2016 Well, it look nice and interesting dreamy image with a classical painting tone. How was done I don't care, as long as the image haw some mood, and artistry in it. I would like this image, without the ghost image too. The ghost image an over shoot to me. The set-up is nice and the processing is nice too. And, as a painter myself, I'm gladly paint this image on a canvass, with-out the ghost . Please forgive my English. -BLM. Link to comment
JDMvW 64,215 Posted August 23, 2016 For what it is, it's fine. I'd like it a little better myself without the ghost. Link to comment
Robin Smith 812 Posted August 23, 2016 I very much appreciate the painterly quality. Dutch 17th century or perhaps mid 19th century French- impressive. But I don't understand the ghost and think it detracts from the final image. It looks like a palimpsest: perhaps that was the idea? Link to comment
Tony Brandstetter 814 Posted August 23, 2016 I think perhaps if the ghost was doing something different, I don't know perhaps looking at the original girl from the steps, just something different. I am not sure what is on the railing, a bow of some sort, I would probable remove that. And one last thing, perhaps remove the TV remote Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted August 24, 2016 I like the color palette, the variety of textures, and the painterly appearance. However, I think the only contribution the ghost makes is to provide a distraction. Link to comment
Phil_Light 795 Posted August 26, 2016 I think this should have been titled; "Beside Myself." Interesting concept but doesn't really provoke me to look for any deeper meaning or intent. But then again as the witty Marshall McLuhan said; "Art is anything you can get away with." Link to comment
aplumpton 16 Posted August 29, 2016 A photograph like any work of visual art is a success if it does at least one of two things - effortlessly provide an image of great beauty, or an image with a great message. On that basis, how close does this one come to either result?Great beauty is not decoration. That is what i see here in the form of the colour and the pose. The lady might well be taking a selfie of herself (the reason for the ghost image?), looking at some unidentified article, or holding a package of cigarettes, for all we can effectively determine. Without a very strong statement that is the only message we can assume here, and it is a sort of banal message at that. So, back to simple decoration in photographs, maybe that is the desired or achieved result? Link to comment
