Well done Hani - you definitely captured a moment that makes me think..."what is she thinking"

An amusing but very well captured exchange.  She's resigned to waiting and Jack, as a Lab, doesn't care (just pet me is their mantra).  Love it... Mike

WINNER! I have always had the complaint that I was unable to view images in POW while I conduct my critique. I have officially fixed that, I have placed the image in a word doc. HA!

This image is so well done IMO, the more seasoned photographers and critiquers in this forum may disagree. I start with Jack, patiently waiting like all good dogs, leash draped over his left leg. Miska controlling the leash with a firm grip, crouched, hand on face as to appear bored, or perhaps frustrated, of course Jack sees nothing wrong. Wispy hair, flowing, pointing in every direction. What a great set up.

The background I am intrigued with, street life going on as normal but we see a little segment of life playing out in front of us. The toning is just stunning, a vintage feel bust more so, a humble feel. The only issue I have are the legs to the left, no big deal, in a perfect world perhaps but in life's events, nothing is ever perfect.

Meh. So I'll just play with it.

Role reversal: usually it's the dog that stares at the human trying to connect, waiting to be noticed ...

Or, it's a sub-level, subterranean, sub-whatever; beast-and-child in another world, beneath that of commerce and real-world drudgery; a place where such sub- kind of dramas go on unnoticed by un-sub- Big People

Or, there's bondage: that huge metal snap and rugged leash binding one to the other ... forever? [cue violins]

I like the dog. (I always like the dog ... )

I don't know why some are so tough on this shot. I think it's a nice one. BW and very contrasty. Cute girl with a wonderful expression. Dog too.

It's apparent from Miska gaze that she is expecting the dog to response or do something. However, from the highlight of the dog's eye, it's obvious he's not interested in anything that Miska has in mind. Just a mundane shot but it sure did capture the moment and tell the story. I still remember the dog in my childhood and I doubted that I ever will forget. So will Miska! TFS!

A good photographer for me is one who has a complicity with his subject, whatever and however he or she chooses to perceive and portray it. That connection is very evident here and has resulted in a humorous and appealing image. The use of a very low angle rather than that of the more common waist high photo is commendable and brings the photographer into the world of his subjects. Well done!

Miskas' expression along with the Jacks lack of interest makes this work for me. The legs in the background as mentioned earlier are ever so slightly distracting, but not a deal breaker. Very good image with fine tones and slight sepia has a good feel.
