I really like this picture. However, I am quite new at this. I would like to know others'

opinions about the technical aspects. I realize a beautiful subject can make a beautiful

image, but I want to make sure I am seeing beyond that.

No JM, it's the light you have chosen, the POV, your "connection" with the model that creates a "beautiful image". And it's a beautiful image because i can feel a part of her soul through her eyes, a sincere portrait. The credit is all yours.

I also like the natural, non contrived look of the image, it looks like she has just turned her head and noticed you, the light and dark proportions are just right too!
