[ ... enjoying the phallus on the "man" with the lovely purple hair, but I really shouldn't say anything about it ... :) ]

*cough* Um .. [putting on a sober face] I think maybe Pedro struggled with the crop. The big one is not quite on or off center, while the picture still doesn't get any strong bias toward either side.

I confess I do not see the special appeal of this shot. It's a just fine shot of a couple of flowers where the photographer has aligned the plane of focus nicely, but that is all I see in it. The flowers, obviously, are attractive, but I don't feel the photo itself adds much my perception of them, nor do I find the arrangement or framing particularly inspired. The title suggests that the photographer feels it suggests, presumably a female on the left and a male on the right. Well I try, but find this analogy rather unconvincing and it doesn't help me appreciate the shot more, because I don't really see it.

Families have many faces and this one works for me. The upward movement of the petals of the primary flower are intriguing and uplifting, The golden glow adds to that uplifting feeling. Simple, genuine and very appealing.

Long ago it's a dilemma for me to judge a flower image untill I have figured a simple rule for myself to

follow, and it goes like this, the flowers are amongst the most beautiful creatures on the planet, and their

photos should be as such, there is no credit to the photographer in their beauties, unless he or she was able to

produce an extra attracting points to look at, a new angle to view, and or showing a hidden beauty not

ordinarily shown by a mere looking at the flowers, in short he or she must show the flowers more beautiful

and appealing to our eyes than in its real natures.

Applying this simple rule on this image, it clearly shows that the photographer is successful in his

shot, this is not a flower in real sense, it's a weed,in nature it's seldom to attract viewers because of its

thorns, and it got no smell too.Returning to the photo,it looks very beautiful in its macro shot, appealing to

the viewer's eyes, with an extra points of adding a nice subject to the image, a family where one of the

parents is holding a baby. This is about the aesthetic side of the shot, technically it's excellent with that

fine background, though the space at both sides of the image, I guess too much.
