Even on this relatively tiny island that we call the UK there are so many hidden places of great beauty that it's unlikely I'll find them all in my lifetime.  It won't stop me trying though : - )

Wandering off route is a great adventure, and this little island that I first saw from my car was worth the diversion.

So pleased to read that you like it also.

Sincere Thanks & Kind Regards

Hi Alf, I love the beautiful simplicity of this, although technically it is certainly not simple!. When you see places like this it is sometimes hard to believe what else goes on in other parts of this turbulent world. This has a very calm and serene atmosphere to it. Beautifully captured. Best wishes. Sarah.

Many Thanks for your thoughts and positive feedback!

It was the simple aspect of the scene that attracted me too.  And although there was fine snow falling and a mild breeze blowing whilst I took this shot, the overall effect turned out something like how I had envisaged thanks to the  long exposure.  Although ideally it would have been flat calm and I would have also have nice reflections : - )

Cheers Sarah!

I was thinking that a B&W version would do as well but the splash of green on the island draws the eye & keeps it coming back to the center.  Gotta love the high key background.  It's subtle visually but impressive in size. This one is a great study in contrasts.  Best, Len.

Many Thanks for your thoughts and positive feedback. This one was a bit of a challenge. I could see the potential of the contrasting island against the pale background, but there was a lot of very fine snow falling. I managed to get this long exposure by putting quite a deep hood on the lens thus preventing and moisture droplets on the lens.  Quality was somewhat compromised by the F/ 22 aperture. But I couldn't risk fiddling about with filters in the snow.

Cheers Len!
