Wayne Sadler 584 Posted October 2, 2013 For two evenings in a row on Ocracoke Island, I observed these birds, about at the same time each evening, leave their roost near the shoreand peddle out into Pamlico Sound (pretty much in line with my view ofthe sunset) and just linger. I have no other explanation than thatthey were as fascinated with this miraculous event as I and otherresidents of the island were. Comments and critique welcome. Link to comment

alfbailey 3 Posted October 2, 2013 Nice composition and good control of the light. A well chosen moment to capture the bird in flight which adds that spark of life to the image. Compliments! Alf Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 584 Posted October 2, 2013 Thanks, Patsy, Sadegh, Alf and Maurizo. Your kind comments about the moment, the capture and the beauty of this place and time are appreciated and was what I was trying to express. I was on an escape to this place, to me a remote island – escaping from some tensions and responsibilities that were smothering. The birds, the sunsets, the beaches and people were like medicine. For two days I stopped and appreciated this beautiful world we have been given – the things I see in your art. I hoped I could bring some of that back in my art. Thank you for the acknowledgement.
