Vlado 0 Posted June 9, 2013 I wouldn't say it's a regular street scene, but great timing and composition anyway! Link to comment
mike_palermiti 3 Posted June 9, 2013 Hi Ruud,A fine Nature capture my friend. A wonderful natural setting for such a great bird. For the Canon line of fixed focal length lens, this one (and the same lens made years ago for the FD system) have a well corrected optical design capable of delivering excellent imagery on any sensor.I have both the original FD lens and the newer EOS version. The use of a quality 1.4X extender allows this lens to continue to provide fine images at nearly 300mm effective focal length, too. Many times , large birds are easier to approach and certainly do not require a long telephoto to make a capture like this either.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted June 9, 2013 I like the proportions of the bird within the frame and the perceived sense of movement.Very well done! Best Regards Alf Link to comment
HermanRoes 6 Posted June 9, 2013 Ruud,You caught him (or her?) well on its way to the point. I am hungry and very determined to do something about it. The colors are wonderfull, although it seems to me the bird is a litlle bit more blue than I percieve herons here in my environment. Wel seen, congratulations (7)Herman Link to comment

vancouverphotographer 1 Posted June 15, 2013 Nice. I like how it stands out - often when I shoot these guys, there's not a great separation making them pop out from the environment. Link to comment
