The original image file was taken in June of 2009. We were living

along the shores of Lake Ontario in a small Adult Retirement

Community. Nearby was a lovely Greenhouse that always had a

generous offering of beautiful hanging baskets in mid June. This

image was of a beautiful White Fuschia . I may post the original at a

later date. I was in a Creative Mood and arrived at this composition.

Hope you enjoy it. Many thanks in advance for any visits or

comments. ;-) Gail (Dig Alt)

Oh my Gail! Fuschia! I just love fuschia. I used to grow many varieties when I lived in California. Now that spring has come back to the Northeast USA I think I'll trot over to my local nursery and by at least one. Oh yeah..this is a photography site so...great photo. I like what you did with it!

I love Fuschia so much as well. One house we were in had  an inground pool and I put Fuschia hanging baskets about every 8 feet all around it. They looked so beautiful!!! Unfortunately at that time I did not realize that they did not enjoy 'wind' and very hot sun!!!! They just BAKED no matter what I did to revive them.

I do not see the white variety very often these were not the 'plump' variety you often see (I love those!!!) To me they are a Miracle of Design. For some reason, the way this composition turned out, it reminds me of a Wedding Design, or Wedding Bells. I hope you get a Fuschia soon, they are so cheerful and will be lovely to look at as you work around your property.

I hope you have been enjoying the hot weather we have, a couple of the days we were in the very high 80's/low 90's. Go figure, An Ice Storm one week, then Florida temps the next!!! Thanks so much for dropping by!!! (I have never grown a Fuschia from seed!!!)

A bell, a nose, a mustache, black sunglasses, big eyebrows, dangling antennas, a totem? A face behind the mask? Or another mask behind the mask?...in short, another one of your intriguing symmetrical and artful pictures. What has it to reveal, what has it to hide? Who is it? The spectator searches his mind...and gets it at last: The truth is subjective, individual, volatile and delicate just like a flower. Not to mention the sophisticated fragrance, oh là, là  :-)

Hi Gail,

For me, this beautiful chandelier like composition  defines peacefulness and the delicate side of Nature.

Well presented my dear friend.

Warmest Regards, Mike

Actually, ballerina would have been a perfect title. You have made such good use of the subject, allowing the delicate nature of the flower to portray something both beautiful and graceful. Extraordinarily good.

My sincere thanks for that lovely comment. So good to hear you enjoyed this composition and we are 'like minded' re the 'Ballerina' feel to the image.

A delicate ornate mantle made of light and the finest gossamer thread, a source of graceful illumination that would best be suited to the palaces of royalty!

Beautiful work Gail!

Best Regards
