This a successful picture. Everything in the image from the flying dirt, blurred background and powerful diagonal lines speak of ACTION. Even the excellent black and white rendering adds to the gritty dirt track ambiance. A terrific race picture caught from a perfect angle. Well done, Slawomir!

I agree that this photo works well.

It is technically good from the standpoint of focus and exposre.

B & W adds to the overall effect. There would likely be many colors in the photo which would distract.

It is full of the drama of an accident about happen.

My only suggestion would be to adjust the crop, if possible, by moving the subject more to the left and see how it looks.

The thing here that really catches my eye is the way the dust is rendered as almost like smoke. It is very ethereal in nature and I think what makes this image. While I do like this image, I wonder if a bit more detail in the shadows of the rider wouldn't help it a bit (especially in the area near the front forks)--no where else though and even this comment might be a bit of a nit, I would just like to see if it wouldn't make the image a bit stronger.

Unlike many of the other images, it is actually hard to know what is actually happening here. It could be that this is a turn or could it be a victory "burn-out? In context with the rest, it does appear to be a turn. I am not suggesting that this is a flaw, but unlike the others in the series, what is happening is not as clear but the series is a nice compilation of images.

Overall, a very nice image.

What a great shot. As an ex-motocross racer I have to say speedway is the most exciting motorcycle racing there is. Light bikes and incredible horsepower per pound ratio. One mistake and you lose the race. This photo says a thousand words when it comes to the action.

To John A. This is a typical turn in speedway racing. Come off the straights and the bike stays sideways through the entire turn.

Perfect shutter speed and aperture, and the B&W rendering was wonderfully done. The dust in the air is especially eye-catching. This really expresses the action of motocross racing.

Successful photo capturing the peak of action

I like the black and white, and when viewed at the larger setting, the photograph is full of excellent detail. It's a very well-captured action shot that makes me want to know what happened in the next three or four seconds.

No critique. Awesome image. Black and white is what was called for - and the graininess and high contrast add to the drama. Bravo!

Holy smokes! Such great, GREAT shots in this portfolio, and I agree this is the best of them, the left-right orientation, the sound, the fury, the smoke, the dust! This image would make Faulkner proud. May I repeat, HOLY SMOKES! To ask me to "critique" this image is like asking me to "critique" Leonardo's "The Virgin of The Rocks". I can only gaze in open mouthed, stupefied adoration.

This is spectacular. I can feel the flying dirt and raw aggression combining together to make this intense moment. Fantastic capture and interpretation.

I have followed this sport for many years. This is a classic shot Slawomir. Well done !

Since no one has yet commented on the diagonal line created by the rider and bike, I will. It is visually very attractive.
Was this an intentional crop, intentional framing at capture, serendipity or irrelevant to most? How important is that diagonal line?
