gsphotoguy 3 Posted June 18, 2011 A terrific image (self-portrait?), Donna. There is much emotion here and a bit of feel of not being ready to fully reveal yourself. This is evident in the cover-up, the pose and the lighting. Well made! Link to comment
sid747 0 Posted June 19, 2011 My first reaction was "What the hell are you looking at?"Nice look - original for sure. Link to comment
donna pallotta 108 Posted June 22, 2011 grazie, Mark, that you're optimistic about this style, much i've learned thru our continuing dialogue about nudes; complete nudity, not my vision now, because in my intent it distracts from the emotional portrayal; Sveta understands it exactly as an "emotional portrait"; maybe it belongs in portraits; always i'm enlightened by your response... Sid, indeed, what the hell?!!! it definitely intends that response; all the lunatic Operas my father has been dragging my to over the years ;-}... Sveta, grazie to your understanding! ;-} dp Link to comment
svetlana_korolyova 27 Posted June 25, 2011 I think you should continue to experiment in this direction - with elements of nu and emphasis on the expression. My wishes for success! Svetlana. Link to comment
donna pallotta 108 Posted June 26, 2011 Sveta, you are well aware of my deep respect for your nu vision... i do wish to pursue this genre myself; and now, with wind of your acknowledgement at my back!!!! grazie much, Svetlana ;-} dp Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted June 27, 2011 This is one powerful gritty image!. No grinning manikins, no sweet smiles, and no pouting lips to indicate the sophisticated but too often overly contrived images that we see.A heartfelt portrait that is both timeless and ageless, that rips at the emotions. The pose and body language seems to expose your heart and soul and I like the "cameo light" my only reservation being I would have liked it evenly distributed. Very Well done Donna!Sincere Compliments!Alf Link to comment
Funtak 0 Posted June 28, 2011 Excellent idea, well crafted, black was and is beautiful, so is the model...so tender yet powerful at the same time..Cong. Link to comment
deb1 0 Posted June 29, 2011 DonnaThere is so much more being revealed here than is being exposed. You are revealing the emotion of who you are and what it is within you that is screaming to be released. Your hands are expressing your fear to fully reveal yourself. This is a very powerful image Donna and I'm so very proud of you for sharing this side of yourself. I personally think we all have a great need to reveal our inner self so it is seen along with our outward self. I also think, once we do, we find ourselves in harmony with who we really are.deb Link to comment

;-} dp Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted July 6, 2011 A fascinating image which I like very much. I'm ambivalent about the strong oval light however. I keep trying to imagine what the image would be without it, and think I might like it more without. It reminds me of those old movies where they are questioning the suspect under this harsh light. But maybe that's the effect you were going for. Cheers Link to comment
donna pallotta 108 Posted July 7, 2011 glad you've commented on this, Dave. i suppose she could be under interrogation; i hadn't thought of that interpretation... LOL, so hilarious! the light was chosen for several reasons, and i'll leave it to interpretation. grazie amico ;-} dp Link to comment
