Your titles always make me think ...  I love this partly because of colors, partly because of the subject, but mostly because of a certain whimsicalness.  And it's pretty and what kind of tree is that?

It looks a very Middle Eastern history landscape, sky, tree( looks like an olive one...)details of construction.Very nicely composed and lighted with modern equipments...;-))

Love it!  I am the worst at cropping, but feel like you could crop the left and right walls a bit. When I put my hands up there to cover some of the wall it really pops the blue and the tree.  I am an amatuer...! ~j

Remarkable shot, Jeff. The sense of serinity here is nearing on biblical dimention. Perfect weather in its best working composure. Must be hard to walk away form such a spot but what can you do...

The bits of foreground vegetation are the starting point of a journey through the arches, to the tree and the sea beyond, great depth and sharpness throughout, I'm particulary impressed with the exposure of the tree which you might half expect to be little more than a silhouette, but is in fact well illuminated and defined.  I can't think of anything I'd want to change, the tree is lined up perfectly with the opening, and whilst a tighter crop might work ok, I think the wider perspective adds more in the way of an appreciation of the building.

Nicely done Jeff!

Best Regards

Alf

Beautiful image, the idea of framing the outer sense added great credit to the composition, your lighting is superb and so the fine details obtain with very original colors.

Thank you my friend for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

The picture itself is compelling; I particularly like the DOF and the lovely understated colors. As usual, I am intrigued by the title, a play on words, perchance, or a more pointed reference? I remain unwashed.

I agree with Alf.  l Love thw textures in the old stonework, the tree is framed so well by the arches, and the lovely sky and water. A lovely composition, truly worthy of our praise. Kindest regards, Gail

Excellent composition. I see that there has been some vandalism to the structure, but the tree remains unconcerned.

A very good idea, Jeff, the repeating arches leading to the opening vision of the tree and the distant sea. It seems both magical and hopeful and I could use a little of each right about now.

Jeff, admirable composition, with very good exposure,DOF,  and colors. Interesting caption. The texture of the old building with arches, play of light & shadow, green tree , blue sky & water- have beauty of their own and makes this image attractive.

That beautiful blue water and sky invite the viewer through the diminished colors of those weathered arches like a gateway to the world. Love the colors and this is a exceptional composition as well.

This image really strikes me for some reason.  To me it almost serves as a metaphor for leaving one realm and entering another.  Maybe I'm thinking in those terms because of my dad's death (BTW, I appreciate your very kind and gentle remarks on my POW image), but it really strikes me how very different these 2 realms are......yet they complement each other at the same time.  And I like that you've retained some detail in the dark shadows.  It's a tough call, and I'm not even sure about the idea myself, but if this were mine I'd probably opt to have the horizon level, even if it makes the walls of the archway uneven with the side edges of the frame.
