Thanks much Jack! Good to hear from you. You know I'm peeking at your photos all the time ... :) It's hard enough to be in the right place with the right light to capture that photo that really says something. Doing that with a disposable camera that had a teeny weenie viewfinder while breathing through a snorkel tube and flailing ones rubber web-covered feet - well, that was a whole 'nother story. Hello Ricardo: Very nice B&W shot - the tones are perfect on the horn, the depth of field just right to draw our attention to the instrument against a background that provides texture without distracting. But in my own experience (30 years photographing musicians and stage performers) you've omitted THE most important thing in this capture: the expression on the face of the horn player. You can go to any musical instrument shop in the world and take a photo of a horn. But the face of a horn player practicing his/her craft I think is much more memorable. Cheers ~ Alberta -
