Hi Chris, another wonderful photo from you with such a clearity and detail.

What angers me is the low ratings on this photo, especially when I compare it with other photos presented by other people at the same time. Their photos are not anywhere close to the class of this photo and yet have got much higher ratings. PN rating simply sucks.

This photo gets a 7 from me which honestly deserves it.

Im not sure people understand how small this guy is he about a quarter of an inch hard to find let alone get a photo of.Photo net has tried to work on the rating system for that I give them a ton of credit. One day I will get tired of this and just stop.

Thanks again for your comment.

And a big thanks to everyone else

I agree with Nader... I don't want to see the best of art being pushed behind for some xyz reason... I am sick of some of community members dirty business in terms of rating.. I wish P.N could scrap out this rating system and can come out some real meaningful solutions. Precise to say I can put it outright there's no matching work in whole of P.N compared to yours. I honestly didn't mean that others are not good rather I mean your work is exceptional in terms of macro art or whatever you might have published here in. You definitely deserve the highest rating for your Time, Efforts, Dedication and lot more

This little creature looks to be almost prehistoric, and maybe it's one of those creatures that hasn't needed to evolve any further in the last million years, who knows? it's camoflage is superb I'm amazed you even found it. Excellent Macro.

As for the rating system, I opted out of that a long time ago, numbers can't help me improve my photography, helpful suggestions and comments can. Though I can understand why people would want more exposure through this system, I think the anonymous aspect of it could be subject to abuse. PN have a difficult task to try and keep everyone happy regarding this subject.

Best Regards

Alf

Perfect shot Brother Chris.  The little hopper looks like an alien at this magnification.

As for the ratings.. they're getting to be pretty much meaningless (not sure they ever had a lot of value in the first place since there is such a broad level of understanding on the forums)  It might show what the average "Joe/Josephine" on the street thinks but then consider how many people are nuts over the Ga Ga....  Shock value (is something naked, bleeding, caught and/or being eaten by something else?), sheer ignorance and the "rating whore" effect are a few of the factors that drive silly ratings.   Still, we can simply opt out of the numbers game or not let it get to us.   It's getting to be more amusing than offensive these days.

After all, it shows up the behavior of the craziest animal on the planet..  To borrow from Togo, We have met the fool and it is us!

Be well and happy, Master.

Agree with the ratings cutdown. This is just beyond words. Well it should be in the Daily Photo Pics as it is today. Congrats.
