Choreographer :Amir Kolben.

(please read context as a response to David Meyer)

Thanks for your thoughts.

It seems a bit bizarre without context. Nevertheless, I love the four separate tableau that are presented. The light and textures are pleasing. Cheers.

Apurva and Dave, thank you both.

Dave sorry ,you are right about the lack of context !. It is a dance which is called : Tu-nnel, and its movement narrative is about confusion, tumult, also pleasures and a dialogue between choreographer and his dancers, the dialogue ( also verbal in the dance) is showing the confision of the creator himself while creating and dialoguing with his partners(dancers). so this is one of the scenes in the "tunnel" where light and shadows, clear and dim play a part. It represent one of the main point of the dance.

I hope it helps to understand ;-))

Thank you both

Giuseppe, I upload the B/W version, even though I think that ( in this regard) the colored one is accentuating better the details, as they were in the dance, what do you think? if you see it again....

Great composition. It is obviously a theatre scene but comes out as a dreamlike dolls house. Intriguing and attractive. Very well done Pnina;

A very interesting picture, Pnina! Good to read a little bit about the context too. My first impression that I liked in particular, was seeing (and sensing) the movement of the dancers against the vertically lined bg. My compliments, Pnina. ( ps : I personally prefer the colored version too, since the colors are so nice & subtle, and add to the mood I find ;-)

Anders, Thanks, it was a difficult dance lights to photo, but there are some good ones, and this one is significant to the dance context.

Marjolein, I think that context is sometime very important for visitors that did not see the dance.I'm thanfull to David Meyer that reminded me that it is missing....with the narrative it is easier to understand the source.Especially because a single movement can be( and mostly is) very abstract.

Giuseppe, thanks, I appreciate your follow up and accepting my choice.

Kallol and Mario, thanks for your feedback.

excellent, pnina. the bg gives a rythm, the 4 sectors gives dinamicity, the reflex gives a magic appeal. i dont think that bw could be better, too much red, i'm afraid that greys will be not so rich. brava, ciao!

I like this one a lot. It had an immediate effect on me, like watching individual frames from a short section of film passing through a moviola. The repeated verticals within each panel break the outline of the figures and don't allow the eye to rest. The constant readjustment gives the viewer the feeling that the figures are moving through the frames. Striking and original work, dear Pnina.

Very strange. I'm trying to figure out the deeper meaning, but I'm at a loss. Some male-female dichotomy. Even when your pieces are confusing, they remain interesting.

Intriguing image with a lot to look for. I assume this is a "dance" shot, good catch on the figures and the lighting with minimal movement blur. Well done! - Charles

Andrea, I think that the colored one is reflecting better the search.

"The constant readjustment gives the viewer the feeling that the figures are moving through the frames."

Jack, this was my thought, the feeling of moving while searching, what? Each to his own world.

Jeff, sometime we look and look and don't find an answer , this is exactly what I wrote to Jack. I think it has the idea of searching.

Charles, thanks, I think we were writing simultaneously

I appreciate your seeing the light, it was quite a hard light conditions....

Another wonderful interesting image from you. This has a science fiction feel to it, like a scene from a strange world of androids and machines. I like this very much.

Best wishes, Linda

Excellent image, and I think I'm inclined to argue that it stands on it's own. I understand about context, and it's very nice to know the backstory to any pic, but I guess I'm more inclined to think in terms of what the picture says to me, what is it showing me that I might not see myself, what feeling to I have looking at the image and what stories it stimulates my mind to create.

This image gives me a surreal, sci-fi feel, it's visually compelling, and it's fascinating to me that it shows movement in two ways. The more obvious is the two men walking across the stage, and I very much like your choice of shutter speed that gives the front man's left foot just the right balance between transparency and evidence of movement, and definition that allows it to continue to look like a leg and foot. The second type of movement is incremental as one looks from one woman to the next and there's a clear relatedness and progression between the women's positions.

I also like the structure and symmetry. It's interesting, too, that the direction the men are going is toward the light, or so it appears. Overall, a well executed (of course!) and fascinating image.

Warm Regards, David

Thank you very much for taking the time to evaluate both so nicely, and the point you have raised . I agree with you about the photo that has to speak or tell a story or impressions to the viewer without explanation, in order to trigger his/her imagination.

As the dance narratives is a priory an abstract let alone to the the viewers that see only one or some compositional stiles , I understand the need to have some general information about the dance idea.

I enjoyed your evaluation, interesting reading of your impression. Warm greetings.
