wieslawmamon 0 Posted March 5, 2009 Interesting story told with a good sense of humour. The composition looks simple or even humble and is perfectly subordinate to the topic. The body of the van holds everything together here. Intelligent work Ton, congratulations and best regards -wm Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted March 5, 2009 Wieslaw has pretty well said what there is to say. An excellent photo with comic overtones and two very well matched protagonists. Link to comment
oskarpapierz 0 Posted March 5, 2009 Very good. I like this shot, I like it very much. Best regards from Nottingham. Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted March 6, 2009 Interesting framing, and the dog and the man have similar bushy white hair on their faces. A lighthearted photo, but the hanging shirt hints that maybe this is their home? which sobers the feeling a bit. A great story and photograph! Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted March 6, 2009 Ton, I'm still laughing as I write. Landscape is never this funny. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted March 6, 2009 This lends credence to that old cliche about pet owners growing to look like their pets. Nice one Ton. Link to comment
Matt Laur 2,201 Posted March 7, 2009 I've been around enough scruffy-looking dog owners to know that things aren't always what they seem. But this provides for so many narrative possibilities that it's irresistible. So many curiosities... I don't think that man would fit in that garment. One glove? And, I think I see another leg (with shoe attached) in the van. One could get an entire Dickens novel out of this shot, Ton. Wonderful! Link to comment
razi miri 0 Posted March 7, 2009 Ton, this is a great shot, I really appreciate your work on this excellent image. You got the right time, and captured a unique moment in perfect quality, Bravo Link to comment
leicaglow 3 Posted March 7, 2009 As I said in a post Ton, this is one of those shots I wish I had taken. Just a brilliant image. Link to comment

Yes they are matched, aren't they Oskar, thanks a lot Thanks Tim, I won't spoil it by telling Jeff, if you ever come this way I'll take you on a tour ;-) Thanks Alon Gordon, as you know all cliche's are basically true. Thanks thanks Philip Matt, you're right. Also I'm not surprised that this would appeal to you ;-) Thanks Razi, that's very generous of you Thanks Michael for the compliment Mauro, thanks a lot Nuno, thanks Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted March 12, 2009 More than happenstance, this was meant to be. And you were there. Another fantastic gem in your portfolio. Link to comment
acarodp 0 Posted March 26, 2009 Hi Ton, what to say? they said it already. I will just add that this is another example of how sometimes a good image and a great image are divided by something that cannot be controlled, and perhaps you don't even think about when shooting: for me in this case it is that shirt. Take it away, and the photo loses something, it is just good, because the dog and the owner are funny. Like this, it is great. Well done! L. Link to comment
