pnital 36 Posted October 25, 2008 Photographed in the market... reminded me the white wizard look.....Thanks for your thoughts. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted October 25, 2008 An interesting figure and what doleful eyes. His arms draped behind him and his hair and beard flowing, he seems resigned to life on that bench. There are ample details here and there to make the scene increasingly complex. Your eye worked well here. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 25, 2008 Thanks .He is an artist, that sells his products( many things for children, like clocks with paintings of animals and the like) in the art market, very unusual human being. with an impressive look and figure. I upload another version of his portrait for you and others to see. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted October 25, 2008 I like both images, but favor the second one because it lacks all the clutter of the background. Nevertheless, they both show us a person who we instantly want to know more about. He looks to be quite fascinating. As always, fine image. Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted October 25, 2008 Pnina, I like both images, but prefer the first, since he looks more natural. I love the commentary because it helps me understand that, while his presence seems off putting, he isn't like that in person . Which makes him lots more interesting to me. Link to comment
Funtak 0 Posted October 25, 2008 Beautiful street portrait. I would like to see him eating though. Link to comment
bob_belanger 1 Posted October 25, 2008 I like both images as well but I'd say I prefer the first because of the clutter and his desheveled appearance, he blends into the clutter. Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted October 25, 2008 I have to say I prefer the first, It place him in his element and tells a little more about him. He has very sad eyes, stories to tell I'm sure. Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted October 26, 2008 Reminds me of a modern day Rasputin. I like how you captured the subject in a laid back and intriguing way. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 26, 2008 Dave Thanks, the clutter on the first one is his natural surrounding, whenever I visit that street /art market I see the clutter so that's why I have uploaded his portrait only, as I think it give a better picture of this interesting human being. Glad to see you back home Dave. Liz, thanks, I'm glad I have uploaded the second version that, as I wrote to David, creates a better understanding of the man's figure. Vladimir, I think he eats well.... Bob, I agree with you about the clutter, the second is as he looks without ...( the clutter)..;-)) Tim, he is a very bizarre in his looks, and also looks like a lonely man. I don't know anything about him aside from his presence there and his art that he sells. Adan, Rasputin ... I have to enter Google and look to see how Rasputin looked.;-)) John and Maurizio, thanks both of you. Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted October 26, 2008 Supeb capture, dear Pnina. Excellent b&w photograph with perfect exposure and very good DOF. The scene is unique. Congrats! PS.- Much better the first version. Regards Link to comment
blue-olympus 0 Posted October 26, 2008 A very good portrait of this Rasputin look-alike. it would be even better without all the clutter around him..but that's not your fault:-) Great shot and p/p work..Bravo!...Regards Link to comment

armindo_lopes 1 Posted October 26, 2008 Kind of image I like. The B&W fits very well. The second version is spectacular, for my taste. Congrats and regards my dear. Link to comment

MichaelChang 12 Posted October 27, 2008 Not to sound stereotypical, he does have that artist look, doesn't he? Nice Candid shot, Pnina. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted October 27, 2008 Pnina, I like both the images.Appearance of your 'white wizard' in that strange surrounding is attractive .Exposure,DOF and tone are very good. When you search for Rasputin, try also Gandalf :-) Link to comment
schneekranich 0 Posted October 27, 2008 nice portrait, especially because of the natural city surroundings! Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted October 27, 2008 I was gone this weekend and missed the new upload. Wow. What a fantastic shot. I like it even more than the second (which I liked a lot). Link to comment
giuseppe_pasquali 0 Posted October 27, 2008 he seems a character from a classic russian novel, thank you, Giuseppe Link to comment
jayanti 0 Posted October 27, 2008 Fantastic image... and I like the first one more for its 'clutter'. Exact choice of bw tone too. regards. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted October 27, 2008 Pnina: Great capture of a fascinating persona. He could be "Everyman", seen in every large metropolis around the world. I believe you captured that in the mood of the shot. The second photo you posted indeed does work better as a portrait. However, the "clutter" to which colleagues have referred would seem to be an indispenable incredient in this person's lifestyle. Yashir Koach! michael Link to comment
