Falling : Blue Hen Falls, Autumn, Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Terrific colors here, Walter. I'm wanting to get the waterfall a little closer to the top right corner--just a little cropping at top and right? Light, colors, and shutter speed are right on.

Stellar scene. The coloring, lighting and composition are excellent. This would make a fine large format print.

Beautiful. Water and brown colours surrounded by green. Wonderful technique.

It's starting to get cold again and the colors of fall are started to fade already. It's great to be able to see your beautiful, color-filled images anytime. Just wish we could see some more! You've got such a wonderful talent. Will you be posting again soon?

Thanks for the kind words Leslie. If you saw the number of really bad photographs that I have generated you would change your opinion of how much talent I possess.

I'll say it's getting cold again, and way too soon for me! We had snow today from off the lakes and some parts got covered plenty.

Regarding the posting, well...that is a tough one. I have been shooting quite a bit these past few months and have probably a couple of hundred 6x7 and 4x5 chromes and negs to sort through. I have started scanning what I think represent the best of what I have, but uploading the results so that they can be trashed-rated by anonymous trolls and gamers of this site is not a priority for me. And, of course, there is still the looming question of where this site is ultimately headed, too. Regards.

I understand...I was concerned at first, too, but then I remembered that new admin anywhere always wants big change at first and then in reality it's often much less in the end...so, I'll wait and see. In the meantime, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and hope for the best :) As for trolls, well, it's really annoying, but I see no real way to control things...people always find a way to be annoying if they really want to be...maybe if you just posted for critique only? or just load them in your port without requesting anything at all...people who find your work interesting will know when you've been active and will check it out. Walter, I agree with Leslie, The trolls will be trolls, and personally most people don't posses the talent you seen to bestoy us with, in there little finger :) Don't let that keep you from posting, Those of us who are inspired and motivated keep an eye on you, eagerly anticipating the treats we hope you will present us with. This image here is supurb, fresh creative perspective, great angles and depth, and immaculate color. I for one can't wait to see more, I will be back:~) Cole

So, I'm not going to read anyone elses comments here because I dont want it to color my opinion. I love this shot for a few different reasons. Obviously the color is fantastic, vivid and eye catching. You've composed and framed it perfectly, and I love how the lines of the rock draws your eye toward the falls and then up into the brightly lit spots on the canopy. Looks like the exposure was spot on. I wouldnt dare to offer a critique on this photo, I would'nt even know what say.

Also, thanks for stopping by and having a look, you've got such a great eye, I'm honored to have you look and let me know what you see even when it doesnt sound so complementary it's deffinately educational :)

This is one of the finest autumn photographs I've ever seen. The color is literally dripping from this image! Outstanding!

Thanks Mike! I had an 11x14 Chromira print of this made as a test. If I say so myself it was outstanding (true, I am a modest person). But when I included it as part of a trio of photographs to a juried photography contest it did not even place. The others did quite well but not this one. Go figure. Regards.

OK... wow! My only misgiving is the digital frame. The subject, the capture, the composition -- all perfect. The colors! I'd prefer a simple B&W frame, no distraction there from this perfect setup.

Thanks for the visit Ken (and generous rating)! This frame and others were experiments when I was trying to counter the blinding white background that PhotoNet had at the time. That was changed a few years back to the light gray that we enjoy now. I agree, it is not my first choice. Regards.
