You do a great job with black space, Walter. I like this one. It's a little hard to tell what the small object is in the black space, but the title explains - great title, by the way. I think the lighting is excellent. Best Regards.

Nice Walter! I'm confused a little though. Isn't the flash sync on your camera relatively slow? I see you shot at 1/1000th, and don't really know what focal plane class flash bulbs are. Do they flash longer so the bigger curtains have time to move outta the way? Be interesting to hear for us 35mm people if you get a minute...

What the heck! A 2/2 and a 3/1. Another example of why the anonymous rating system is a big joke. I can see if someone doesn't like the photo but one can tell that you put some work into this. It is not just your average bird capture. I think its kinda "cool" Nice lighting and your use of black space works well.

Wow! You use such a camera to capture these little guys? I use a DSLR and I get perhaps one decent photo in 15 at five frames per second! I'd be wasting so much film! How successful are you?

 

You've captured a very nice image here and the bee adds a pleasing bonus to the composition. The ratings received is a joke but we'll be happier if we don't pay attention to them.

In this case, it's a little hard to realize the nature of the (bee/) yellowish speck. I think it must be better larger... Jiri

Yes, I agree with you Jiri. The bee was just a happy accident that wandered into the frame. I thought of croppng him out. Thanks for the comment. Regards.

I think just about every photo posted here now by other than the self-appointed elite is automatically given at least one 3/3 or below, and sometimes two. In the case of my photography, it's probably deserved, but in many cases, such as this, it certainly is not. Not sure what the answer is, though.

Great capture and I love the bee! Actually I like the wings of the bird and the flowers too - superb.
