If you want that effect you're probably better off using an acutance developer such as Rodinal, Tetenal Neofin Blau or Rot, etc. Paterson Acutol has its fans as well. jorge_oliveira2 Posted November 28, 2003 Share Posted November 28, 2003 Danielle A photo taken with a shaky camera or slightly off focus will destroy most of the dev's acutance effects; good optics (camera and enlarger) helps a lot, also. Just to be a dissenting voice, vit C devs (Xtol and clones) have good acutance when dilluted (better than, for instance, HC-110 at any dillution, equivalent to FX-37) And for 35mm users, grain is very much under control (what is not true with Rodinal, FX-1 and FX-37) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
