Film Camera Week for Feb. 2

Recommended Posts

Greetings, all, and welcome to our new thread.  Post all the images you like from any film camera.  I didn't get to the darkroom this week so I will be posting a few older images to get started.

Several from my Konica iiia and it's Hexanon 50 1.8. Film was Kentmere Pan 400. (my test film) developed in HC110. The growing city I live in was once a small farm town with a tiny downtown, A downtown expansion project will claim this old mill I often photograph.

I fixed the frame overlapping issue on the Contarex Bullseye (clean and lube feed side spool spindle), and this is the test shot on Kentmere 100. Just happy to have this beautiful Contarex back in full service. :classic_biggrin:

P.S.: The Kentmere 100 in 135mm seems to have a weak/no anti-halation layer, and you can easily tell from the highlights spilling into neighboring area. Thus I have stopped using the Kentmere 100 other than intentional flare/halation. Arista EDU Ultra 100 (Foma 100) is both inexpensive and fits my aesthetics better.

I agree. Currently, I seem to be standardized on the Arista EDU Ultra 100 for 35mm work.

After several days of chasing vintage cars around the countryside I decided to relax and take a good old-fashioned walk around town with a camera in the early morning, Here are a few rather banal images from a Mamiya 645 1000s with the Mamiya 55-110mm f4.5 lens, the film being Kentmere 400 developed in Spur Acurol-N. I'll have to admit that the Mamiya with the big zoom lens is feeling rather heavy, these days...

Seems several of us are finding Arista EDU 100/Foma 100 as a go to 100 speed film. And for good reason. I am getting fine grain, and good detail in a affordable film that is not high contrast.  I have only developed one roll of the new Arista Pan 100 but the high contrast has me shying away from it.

Another week, another camera. Here I am shooting the Nikon 801s. A friend had given me 2 of these as he couldn't be bothered to sell them. Although I suspect he still has his FM2ns and/or some other valued Nikon gear, he has abandoned film. for the moment.
Initially, they both worked, but as I was dry testing them later, I determined the one doesn't advance the film.  So I have this one. I suspect I used the 28mm Kiron  (One day I will get a Nikon wide-angle..for the glass 🙂 )  While I was pleased with the rendering . The photos were for the most part repetitious in all senses of the word...meaning you've probably seen these scenes before and I took multiple exposures of the same subjects...again 😞   My usual APX100 in D76 1:1

Bruisin' Buddies... I did manage to sell the 801 for 5,00€

Note the light leaks... I suspect this is the cartridge and not the camera.... I hope :)

We've all seen scene this in various views. Seems sharp..but would a Nikon lens  (WA)  be sharper??

Posted this scene/subject previously  too.  When light is so strong I like the relief of the building. A/the previous post I did was using a longer (80mm Tessar? )  lens.  Was better IMHO

The inaugural roll of film thru my recently acquired Rolleicord Vb.  It has had its ev coupling disabled, but is otherwise in good order. Two images. The first caused me great mirth when I developed the film; FP4 in Ilfosol 3 - I guess in my enthusiasm to use the camera, I forgot to attend to the background, producing an image which would embarrass a school age anyone. Regards, Arthur.
