jc1305us
I visited a large public garden in NJ, last weekend and was struck by these rows of beautiful beech trees. I thought it made for an interesting composition. Thoughts? Sony a7ii, processed in LR.
marc_rochkind
Very promising. The trees take the viewer's eye to the center lower background, where there is... nothing at all! Maybe at least lighten that area so the tone is consistent with the geometry? And maybe a bit more contrast in the trees.
dcstep
As Marc says, great composition that leads us nowhere. I also agree with his suggestion for more contrast in the trees. If you have Nik, some of their Silvereffects presets seem to made for this type of shot. My only original comment is to raise the shadows on the right.
Robin Smith
I think a panoramic crop of the bottom third might improve it as it is the receding trunks that are the strongest elements in the shot. 1 Robin Smith
jc1305us
Looking at it again, does there need to be something to go to? I think the idea is that it’s sort of indefinite is what’s important. I wish the trees had kept going, obviously, but does it really distract from the image without an object to focus on at the end? Robin Smith
Nothing is needed at the end IMO 1 Robin Smith
tyelar
The leading lines of the trees is a good composition, but with nothing at the end. I agree with Marc. Since the trees on the right are more interesting, I might crop to a simple composition of just that line. That emphasizes that the trees are the subject of the composition. Sort of a minimalist approach perhaps? Or maybe try with color to emphasize the stark white of the trees?
