Nikon Wednesday 2023: #19

Note: Consider keeping uploads no larger than 1600 pixels on the long side when it matters, and sticking with 1000 pixels when the image feels no pain at that resolution. On data size/compression, try to keep things under 1mb, shooting for 600kb when you can stop there. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc). New to this thread? The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are right here: https://www.photo.net/forums/topic/398109-guidelines-for-nikon-forum-wednesday-image-threadsFor now, we're sticking with 1, 2, or 3 images per week as you see fit.

You know that junk drawer where you keep the old filter adapter rings, the manual screw-in shutter plunger cable with the bulb on it, those useless old NiCad batteries, and your original digital camera memory cards? I just found the memory cards. Amusingly, I'll be visiting with a customer for some on-the-scene bio headshots at his medical practice bright and early ... and none of these cards would even hold TWO images from the camera I'll be using. Man, things have changed. Off we go! Go, Nikon Wednesday.

Spring is here. Checking out a 400mm/f4.5 S lens.

It seems to work. 😉

All joking aside, it seems to be a sharp, versatile lens well matched to the Z9. How much post processing did you do for the images? Did you do much cropping? Sharpening?

Those images are cropped a bit. I have not used the 400/4.5 that much as the 800 PF is a better lens for hummingbirds. But it is a great lens and works very well with the 1.4x TC.
