Film Camera Week for March 17

Recommended Posts

Greetings, all, and welcome to our new thread.  Post all the images you like from any film camera. Tech data and location always a plus.  I'll start with some shots from a camera I posted an image of in the "What camera..." thread.  The camera was a Minolta SRT 100 with MC Rokkor 55mm f 1.9.  Film was Kentmere 100 developed in HC110 dilution H.

BTW, I'm using a PX 625 silver cell that has been rubbed with a pencil lead on the + side.  Seems to make the meter act a little more normal.  I did this once before.  Eventually the graphite wears off enough to make the voltage too high.

Another from the Starkville Bluto's.

I got my Leica R-mount 60/2.8 macro lens back from an overhaul by International Camera Technicians in San Diego, who did an excellent job. So I went out to Filoli Gardens to capture some early spring blossom. Leica R5 camera, Euphoric Ektachrome E100D slide film, processed at home with Tetanal E6 kit.

Some from a trial roll of Ilford FP4 Plus developed in Adox FX-39II, rather than my usual PMK Pyro. After a little experimentation I rather like the results; the images are a little "punchier" than those from the pyro development. The camera was a Nikon F4s fitted with a 24-120 mm Nikkor f/3.5-4.5D lens.

Hi Rick @rick_drawbridge I really like the results from your Ilford FP4 Plus developed in Adox FX-39II. You mentioned some experiments to get the best results. If you don't mind, would you be able to share your best practice in terms of temperature, time and agitation? My Adox FX-39II is still on back order, and look forward to trying it out myself.

While I'm still experimenting with the FZ-39II, I'm happy with the results I'm getting with the FP4. I'm using a Paterson tank and add 15ml of developer to 300ml of water, developing at 20oC with four gentle agitations on the minute, every minute, for 7.5 minutes.

I pre-soak the film for about 5 minutes as I prepare the developer, in water at around the 20oC mark. I reduced the concentration of the developer below the recommended dilution levels as initial results showed too much contrast for my liking, and rate the FP4 at 100 ISO.

No guarrantees, but this may provide you with a starting point!

Thank you Rick for generously offering your experience with FX-39II! This is really the best part of photo.net.

Thanks, Gary, I like that particular image. Living in a small town, I don't have a great selection of architectural subjects, so I just have to make do with using interesting shadows and lines.

That was @mjferron's comment, Rick.

My apologies, gary green and mjferron, for my error in responding to your comments! I'm sure you both sorted it out.

To keep things moving, here are some more from a roll of Ilford FP4 Plus developed in the Adox FX-39II, this time from a Canon T90 camera using either a Canon FD 35-70mm f/4 lens, or a 24mm Sigma Super-Wide f/2.8. I'll note the lens with the images.
