gary green
Your tones are excellent. They make me want to get out the Hasselblad or view camera. Thanks James. The camera has just a simple f6.3, uncoated Cooke triplet but I really like the way it renders images on film. Also, the boathouse pic is a little off-kilter and could use some straightening.
Mike Gammill
Great beginning to this week's thread, everyone. Looking forward to seeing more over the next few days. I have just under a month of school (I teach Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) so after May 20 I will have more time to devote to pictures. I'll probably stock up on bulk film.
Bettendorf
Thanks James. The camera has just a simple f6.3, uncoated Cooke triplet but I really like the way it renders images on film. Also, the boathouse pic is a little off-kilter and could use some straightening. And thank you Gary. Your photos got me thinking again about an inexpensive entry into 6x9. Mom's old No.2 Hawkeye Brownie just doesn't cut it! I found a rather pristine Pho-Tak FOLDEX 6.3 Folding Camera w/ Steinheil Munchen Cassar lens and bought it. 30 bucks and free shipping. The lens, which I can't find much about, ranges up to f22 and the shutter has B, 25, 50, and 200. I guess I'll find out Monday when it arrives.

gary green
Great shots Rick. I particularly like the last two. I've been a fan of Tamron lenses for years. One of my personal favorites is the SP 35-80 2.8-3.8.
rick_drawbridge
Great shots Rick. I particularly like the last two. I've been a fan of Tamron lenses for years. One of my personal favorites is the SP 35-80 2.8-3.8. Thanks Gary. Yes, Tamrons have been sort of "rediscovered" in the past decade. I have a reasonable collection and I think the SP 35-80 2.8-3.8 is probably high on everyones' list of favourite Tamrons. I also really like it's cousin, the 35-70mm f/3.5 CF Macro; I feel it handles contre-jour situations better than the 35-80. The ingenious Tamron close-focus design is just so useful and uncomplicated.
