The correct link is Photos from families ripped apart by the Holocaust

During the Trump administration, the separation of families hit a new low. Immigration restrictions were not limited to that period, though. I found an interesting piece on the Internet - https://www.bbc.com/news/in-pictures-51148661- that contains images addressing how families were shattered as a result of the Holocaust.

You should take your camera to the border today and get an update......

You know, in the interest of getting a true perspective.

At the very least, inform yourself.....

Photos of migrant detention highlight Biden's border secrecy

The single most appalling history in America of institutionalized family destruction connected to new arrivals was the institution of slavery, bar none.

What's so emotionally riveting (and horrifying) about this series is the juxtaposition of such innocent and sweet snapshots of family members juxtaposed with the hard-to-fathom pictures from the camps. Good use of photography to tell both a human and inhuman story.

The US, so called, has been here before in the 1850s, for sure.

80 years back for each referenced example.....

I’d have to agree with your point bough, not sure 1860s, 1940s, or 2020s are comparable in the stated context put forth by the OP.

Kinda the point....

I agree about slavery, but nothing else.

To respond adequately to your suggestion, I'd have to address more political considerations. I should not have mentioned Trump at all in the OP. I apologize to the Moderator for doing so.

I've been waiting for a good boxers/briefs fight. With pictures, of course. (Preferably no selfies!)

I can say, having had experience with both forms of undergarment, that boxers are the most comfortable of the two. You would think otherwise, given that boxers are loose fitting. But no!

Wow.!

The stories that go with the photos are gut-wrenching and tear-jerking.

Poland and many places in Eastern Europe were very Progressive/Forward.

The prewar work that the Pols did on Enigma is staggering, still to this day.

Here's an immigration related photo. A photo of my Grandmother and Grand Aunt in Chicago after coming from Odessa area of Russia during the Bolshevik revolution I think about 1917. My G.M. is in full dance costume, she was quite a good dancer and her husband and she used to dance the Polka once a year on the old Lawrence Welk Show. Immigration in those days was pretty easy. You just came in through NYC though there were quota's on Russian Immigrants and so I think there's a chunk of our family that went to Argentina. :) Dig the classical backgrounds. This is from around late teens or very early 20s I think. Vera.thumb.jpg.a4421fecf1977c5aa28f94d9e15b96ab.jpg
