As I never pushed and processed my self a new delta 400 I was wondering if anybody has some infos for my ???
I did it with a HP5+ and end-up with a realy high contrasted negatif.

Any tips and tricks ?

Tank you !
m0002a
Anytime you push film development (adding more development time) you will increase negative contrast. Ilford seems to suggest about 20% increase (from normal) in devlopment for straight ID-11, and about 25% more development for 1:1 dilution. If the contrast is still too high for that scene, next time try Delta 3200 (rated at its true speed of 1000 or just slightly higer).
john_hicks___
Give it about 1.4X your normal development time. Bear in mind that pushing is defined as underexposure and overdevelopment, which increases contrast so you get a printable neg.
scott_eaton
Do exactly what John said. I've pushed a lot of Delta 400 to 800 and it does this very, very well with extended development.
ben_mcree
If you're willing to try a different developer, I can recommend Ilford's DD-X. I've been shooting 120 Delta 400 at 800 and developing in DD-X for the last couple of months. Processed in this way, it doesn't look like a pushed film at allthe results are truly impressive. I've not had any trouble with excessive contrast. In fact, my experience has been the opposite. I've had to increase development time from Ilford's recommendations because the results were too flat. Ilford recommends 10.5 minutes at 68 degrees at 800 in DD-X; I'm finding that I need between 12 and 13 minutes (spiral tank).
