g_richards
Using the newest version of Darkroom I have been trying to process my images using the new linear options. So far, I have had mixed results, especially with Filmic mode. It seems to be a hit or miss with my images using linear options. Using traditional modes I get pretty consistent results. Anyone else been using the linear modes for processing? And, if so, what results are you experiencing? I will continue to experiment with those modes and maybe I will get the hang of it for more consistent looks. GQR

digitaldog
What do you expect to gain from this so called "Linear Mode"? Is the original data linearly encoded (like raw)? g_richards
What do you expect to gain from this so called "Linear Mode"? Is the original data linearly encoded (like raw)? According to the darktable programmers linear processing is supposed to result in more life-like images. They have a suggested listing of modules to use and not to use to achieve this processing. I am still experiencing it and have had some good images produced. I also have had some bad images result from it too. So, like I said I am still learning.
