Besides art, I have a background in mechanical drafting & mechanical design. Those skills, especially art & perspective, made the Widelux a very fun camera for me. Later models used spiral bevel gears instead of straight-cut gears, to reduce likelihood of banding. I had the newer gears installed in mine. . Personal experience: It does a lot to help, but if you get enough contaminants in the camera, it needs to be cleaned before functioning at its best.
