rodeo_joe1 Posted January 22, 2019 Share Posted January 22, 2019 A quick P.S. I notice a bit of posterisation has occurred in the extreme shadows of the JPEGs I've posted. I can assure everyone that there was no such artefact in the 16 bit TIFF files I worked on. The crappy JPEG compression algorithm creates 8x8 pixel tiles, each with their own restricted colour pallette. Put that together with the crazy linear region of the sRGB colour space (below about level 10, the gamma is changed from 2.2 to 1) and you have a surefire recipe for terrible shadow rendering.:eek: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
