Scanning 35mm Negative's edge

Recommended Posts

Doesn't the advertising blurb for the 'Digitiza' tell you all you need to know?

"Use it with all modern flatbed scanners with a backlight unit."

- Except that such scanner technology is no longer 'modern', and at least a decade old. With many such scanners having little or no driver support on current operating systems.

There's also the small lie about maintaining film flatness. Any holder that reveals the sprocket-hole area of 35mm film isn't going to hold the film flat.

A sheet of anti-newton glass is probably cheaper and provides better flatness.... but dustier.
