johnmark3 Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Hello, Good day to all! I am newbie here. I would like to say hello to all of you guys. Hope everyone here is doing well. Thank you! 3
DavidTriplett Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Welcome to our phunny phlock of photo philes. :) I recommend the No Words forum as a great place to get started, along with the brand- and genre-specific forums of interest to you.
amyhowerton Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 hello! I am also a new member and this is very first time I am writing here :)
James G. Dainis Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Welcome, John and Amy. I must have missed John's original post but it is nice to see new members. James G. Dainis
Guest PapaTango Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Welcome! Now sit down, be quiet, and wait for the pearls of wisdom to drip from the lips of us old farts... And stay off the grass.
Andrew Garrard Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Oops - just because I noticed the thread when Amy posted, I'd not meant to blank John. Welcome John too! :-)
olivia_fair Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Also want to say hello. I'm newbie also:)
Andrew Garrard Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 And hello Olivia! (I probably never did this however many years ago it was that I joined Photo.net. I can no longer claim to be a newbie; it takes years of practice and a great deal of skill to be as bad a photographer as I am...) 1
rodeo_joe1 Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 Hi all, and welcome! Resident grumpy old "devil's advocate" here. If there's another side to any argument, I'll try to defend it. Other than that, I think I'm pretty harmless. Pull up a seat and strap yourselves in for what might be a bumpy ride. The emergency exits are here, there and everywhere - or just hit CTRL+ALT+DELETE. In the event of an emergency, no warning signs will illuminate, no oxygen masks or life-jackets will be provided, and women and children may well be trampled in the panic. Have a nice trip! 1
DavidTriplett Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 RJ, I thought Fred was the designated GOM...;)
Bill Bowes Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 Why no grass??? It's "legal" here in Wa. State (so far, unless the potus lackies get at it). Sometimes it Helps!
DavidTriplett Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 RJ, I thought Fred was the designated GOM...;) Once again I have managed to stuff my foot down my throat up to at least my knee. I hope everyone knows, and I want to reaffirm, that I have the utmost respect for Fred G. and his contributions here. My comment in response to RJ was truly intended in jest, and in recognition of Fred's willingness and ability to make me reexamine my own assumptions and expectations. My sense of humor has always been a little off, and my efforts at levity too often come off flat. I sincerely apologize for any offense I may have unintentionally given, whether to Fred or anyone else here.
rodeo_joe1 Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 I'm sure nobody took offence David. Or if they did, then they truly deserve the GOM title!
Silverrails Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Hello, Good day to all! I am newbie here. I would like to say hello to all of you guys. Hope everyone here is doing well. Thank you!Hello to you, what do you shoot with?
Silverrails Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 A Newbie Here, looking for advice or recommendation for reliable but inexpensive Wireless Flash Trigger /.Remote Shutter Release. The ones I bought were cheap and not real reliable on a regular basis.
Sandy Vongries Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 You will get more and better responses if you break your new topics free from this initial one and position them by topic. What do you shoot with, casual conversation, flash trigger, lighting equipment. I shoot Nikon Film, Nikon FX and Ricoh GXR. Don't do wireless, but many others are knowledgeable. Happy Saturday!
JDMvW Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 (edited) On the whole, we're a little like the original Ruben and the Jets: just a bunch of old men with rock & roll clothes on sitting around the studio, mumbling about the good old days). Ten years from now you'll be sitting around with your friends someplace doing the same thing if there's anything left to sit on. Welcome all! Edited December 24, 2017 by JDMvW
Andrew Garrard Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Welcome, Max(?) - I hope you enjoy your new hobby, and we help you to explore it! 1
rodeo_joe1 Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 A Newbie Here, looking for advice or recommendation for reliable but inexpensive Wireless Flash Trigger /.Remote Shutter Release. The ones I bought were cheap and not real reliable on a regular basis. You've probably bought by now, but YongNuo's RF-603 triggers have good build quality and performance for the price. Available in Canon or Nikon flavours only, but all the 'dedicated' pins do is activate the wake up from standby feature on the speedlight.

bogdang Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Hello everyone! New newbie on board. Just wanted to say hi. Have a good week.
Saadsalem Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Astonishing, the number of replies to Hello are more than the total critiques on photos on the sites for a whole day. 1
michaellinder Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Welcome to all the new victims, uh, members. FYI, despite what you might read on Site Help, this site still has a variety of opportunities for a range of photographers' expertise.
