Film Camera Weekend for April 21

Recommended Posts

It's a rare lens, with just a few hundred per year made in the early 1990s. I managed to pick mine up a few years ago at a good price, unused.

It's actually a M42 lens with a Pentax K adapter. Not quite as small as the Minolta Rokkor 250/5.6, but close.

I imagine quite a bit less expensive than the Rokkor 250 f5.6. I sold mine a few years back and really wish I'd kept it. Here's a shot to help our weekend along. I accidentally posted an image to last weekend's thread, but here's one for the current thread. This image was done with the Tamron 500 f 8 adaptall. At the time I believe it was attached to a Minolta SRT 101.

Here's a bit more eye-candy to stretch out my contribution, since I'm running low on scans. :)

Made by AOMZ (Azov Optical and Mechanical Plant, www.aomz.azov.ru). The company still makes optical and industrial products, though no longer makes photographic lenses. They were known at one time for enlarger lenses.

Lens is about 3" long, weighs about 15 oz., takes 67mm filters.

I took this shot a couple days ago while hiking at the Pinnacles. I had been taking wildflower photos so I had a Green filter on my FM2n. The Condor made a sudden appearance and I just threw it to 1/500 already at f11 and infinity focus and snapped it. I was standing next to a Guy with a super Canon digital and he was telling me about his Condor lens on the camera. He was unable to get his functions working in time and did not get a photo. Just a guy on the trail but he was a nice fellow. HP5 at 400.
