Anyone use Feisol Tripods?

Well I need a tripod after 6 years of heavy use with Gitzo. The Gitzo I had was a little over $400.00 new. It looks like their cheapest pods are $600.00 now and not near as durable as my aluminum pod.
Anyway, I found this unit from Fiesol that looks perfect for me, the CT-3371. I just know nothing about Fiesol. The one thing that is very important to me is tight legs. I hate nothing more than a floppy tripod! In the six years that I owned my Gitzo I only had to tighten the legs 3 times! My Gitzo is still usable but missing 2 feet, I am not talking about the spike, I am talking about the threaded part that holds the spikes. And, every twist lock needs replacing. Their parts are extremely high priced, just not worth it!

If anyone has experience with Feisol, I would love to hear it.

Thank You,
Derek

I use the Feisol CT 3441 (+ CB-40D head) for travel purposes since 2012. I was pleasantly surprised by its sturdyness. For daily use I have a Manfrotto 055B PRO aluminium tripod so I don't use the Feisol very frequently, just often. I would not hesitate buying Feisol again.
CB40D is very good as well, see this http://www.traumflieger.de/desktop/ballhead/ballheads.php link for more info (sorry, it's in German but if you can't read it Google will translate it for you).

I have a photographer friend who swears by Feisol. He uses big heavy telephotos (e.g., 300/2.8) and is very happy with the stability of his tripod. He recommends Feisol as a cheaper alternative to Gitzo.

He also recommends Photoclam ballheads as a very well-made alternative to the more expensive brands.

I have a small CF Feisol I use for travel. It's well made and works great. Can't think of any cons other than it being a bit expensive. Another Chinese brand, Sirui, costs a little less and are also well made (twist locks are easier on the hands too).

Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see.

Good choice :>)....that's exactly what I have. Although I have a heavy 410 (gear head) unit on top, it's still relatively light. My suggestion is to tighten the legs from day one and you should be fine for couple of years. Beside the light weight, I also like the fact that it has no mid column, which makes it more sturdy....and it's great for taller folks. Anyway, I use it often and in variety of conditions and terrains (mud, salt water, sand, etc) and it never disappointed me. All you need is a good quality head and you're good to go.
