stemked
Finals this week which means nothing but grading.

I did do a couple of test shots. I used the new 150-450 with the 1.7X F autofocus TC. The light was very flat, little contrast. The good news is that it exposes well. It does autofocus, but it was really searching. Sometimes I had to pre-focus the combination and then it would take over, not ideal. I'll play around with it some more and see if it does any better.
Anyway as I noted the light was flat. I had to shoot at ISO 1600 and I think this was at f4. I also realize just now I only had it set at one star, so this is a pretty bad test. Will try it again sometime after finals. Anyway...

duane_mills
Hi Doug, great to see that you, Harry, Yury and Matt always seem to keep POTW going. Here are two from me with some similar processing in Lightroom.

hjoseph7
I first tried taking these night shots with an older Takumar manual lens, but a combination of my old eyes and lack of flare resistance ruined the shot. I went back home and got my trusty AF 31mm f1.8...
Picture #1 -

MattB.Net
Nice shots this week!
I had a pretty good week for photos but fell into some rocks skiing on Sunday and broke my clavicle (collarbone) and cracked my scapula. So I'm at least somewhat out of commission for a while. Especially for lugging a medium format kit around. A bummer for sure and I have to cancel some shoots including one I was really excited to do next weekend featuring fire sculptures made by a guy who makes them for Burning Man. But I'll be back skiing and shooting when I'm able. In the mean time I'll make use of my time and catch up on some other things I've been neglecting.
.
My son at a friend's shop making a hatchet out of scrap steel.
