bob_marz
Nice crisp, clear, cold hike with my beautiful bride of 33 years on Valentine's Day. Nothing wrong with chocolates and flowers, just glad we have the same passions. Oh, yeah we did go out to dinner last night.

dorus
That's the sigma 50-500mm I bought last autumn, a pleasantly versatile lens.
now I'm practising to become a bird-shooter (what's the fancy word again?)
Then, Douglas, will you tell me how you get your shells afloat ?
stemked
Sure. I used a piece of picture frame matted glass supported on two boxes about 5 inches/12 cm up. Below the glass I placed a piece of colored/coloured felt. I wrinkled it to give it some texture but kept the background out of focus. Then I placed the shells on the glass and shot it a few times like f8/11 using my 100mm DAW macro.

I'd love to head to South America. I might go there next year with a class (Peru), but we'll see.
