drjoder
Apologies if this isn't the right place...We took a trip to NYC this summer/fall and I managed to keep track of the buildings I was photographing except for this one. Can you identify it, despite my geometric manipulation? (I can't seem to find the original single image.) I have it down as Building #99 but I'd prefer to give it its real name if possible. Thanks!
DanJ

yanavas
Daniel,
Can you tell us from which level did you take this picture? I mean was it taken from the ground level? across the street? or is it aerial view from a helicopter?
This will help me to visualize what this might be.
And by the way - Merry Christmas!

drjoder
Thanks for the crop, Donald--I should have done that. Yes, Yana, it was indeed from ground level. Since we were staying in the area of 9th Avenue and 46th Street (Hell's Kitchen, sort of) I thought it would be somewhere between there and Times Square/The Rock and the south end of Central Park because that was where I spent most of my walking time. But, I did notice that the images that immediately follow this one were taken down toward Wall Street and 9-11 area, so maybe this building is down that direction. Sorry to be so vague.
Laura Weishaupt
Hi Daniel,
The building in the foreground is at 263 West 42nd St, near the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Here is a photo taken in 2011 with the same 3 buildings. The alternating window pattern in that building makes it stand out, at least to me. From there you may be able to figure out the skyscrapers in the back ground.

vivid_earth_photographics
I believe it is the Westin Hotel with the tower being at 43rd Street.
