darin_cozine
So I have a Balda Super Baldax
It has a little lever on the back of the camera. It does not appear to do anything at all.
Does anyone have one of these?

Darin

gordon_yee
Are you referring to the small toothed lever on the back of the the top cover near the rewind knob? If so, I believe it's the lever for resetting the film counter.
rick_drawbridge
As Gordon surmised, probably the counter-setting lever. Instructions here:

http://www.butkus.org/chinon/balda/baldix_6x6/baldix_6x6.htm

(Slip Mike a couple of bucks, if the instructions are useful...)
John Seaman
Yes it's used to initialise the frame counter. Matt Denton explains the rather counter-intuitive film winding procedure here:

http://mattsclassiccameras.com/balda_baldix.html

I found with mine, the frame counter got out of step with the numbers in the red window, perhaps becaise modern films are thicker? Either way its a good idea to practice by running a scrap film through. Its a great camera to use, shame about the film winding system.
