Hi All.
The holidays are fast approaching, I hope that you are having a great start to the season.

Here are some more images from the 'dead' of winter...in New Zealand (last June). These are from Arthur's Pass between Christchurch and the west coast.

Harry, New Zealand certainly is a spectacular place. As I was traveling with the family by this time it was 'click and run'. But it sure was a beautiful place. Nice winter images there

Stunning photos there Matt. Love that landscape image especially so!

Howard, you sure have some nice finds there.
Yury, if I understand it sounds like you have run into technical problems. Hope itr all works out.

Excellent set of pics this week! (I was too busy shooting to post!).
Doug, that part of NZ bears some resemblance to places I've been in the Pacific NW.
Harry, the first pic is my favorite; really a lovely set of tones and colors and a nice composition.
Howard, the colors and great DOF use in your first pic make it the best of your set, I think.
Matt, all of those are gorgeous. Great shot of the Santa-like snowboarder!

Doug - Thanks for kicking these POTWs off each week. Some of us have gotten lazy. Your first two look surreal - I like them. That bird is very ambitious.
Harry - the subtle colors on the tree in #1 make it for me.
Matt - the first two shots don't quite look like this planet, which, as a sci-fi fan, interests me.
Rick - My first photo is the black & white tree with the hazy sun, but I'm glad you like "Birdfeeder 1"
Yury - I like your last one.

Douglas, I love that mossy forest look. We don't have much like that around here because it's too dry. The little mushroom is great too.
Harry, I really like that second shot, being a sucker for frost-covered trees and grass. I wonder if you could bring up the highlights and bring down the mids to get more contrast between the tree branches and sky. That might make it pop a little more.
Howard, that silhouette of the big tree is pretty neat. I love those shapes.
Yury, that last one is interesting. Nice high contrast effect.
Thanks for the kind words on my photos everyone, always nice to hear.
Howard, I really thought those two you mentioned were the more earthly of the lot, especially compared to the night lights shot. But glad you appreciate them, however they strike you.
