Ooh, love that pine cone shot Yvon!
Of course I have been skiing, surprise surprise. I'm actually testing the Ricoh WG M-1 for an upcoming review on Pentax Forums but I still bring the K-3 & 18-135 because I prefer shooting stills to video although I'm trying to get better with video.
I took a SLC area Photographer and Internet personality "Photo John" on a favorite local backcountry tour to Red Lady Bowl on Mt. Emmons on Thursday. He had a great time but the vertical (~3000' of climbing and descending) and altitude (about 12,400' at the summit put the hurt on him). He did well despite the challenges and it was a great day.
I caught a nice blue hour image one evening last week. The sunset was amazing a few minutes earlier but I couldn't get there in time for that.
Yesterday I took my son on an easy (and safe) small backcountry tour in search of leftover powder because the ski area has been all packed out for some time now. We found some good snow despite the crazy warm and sunny weather we are having. I'm ready for real winter to return! He had a great time and impressed me with his strength and maturity for an 11 year old. Love that boy!

#2 My current lens
Tamron SP 17mm f/3.5 adaptall-2 (151B) and Sony A7

This lens and camera pair is not my favorite for many odd reasons. But I love the look of the pair and the feeling in the hand. I am glad that I can part with gear any second out of impulse and get them again in another crazy moment with impulse venture in the 2nd hand market. It is sickening how much time that I waste in gear chasing. My photos don't get any better. This is the 3rd copy of the same 17mm lens in my bag. I had good memory of this lens using Ricoh xr-p and Kodak BW400CN. I preferred the older version 51B with an built-in optical filter for b&w photo

I very much recognise Hin man 's story about gear hunting. I would too, but luckily there's always another project to waste my money on. Besides that, lenses are way overpriced.
