lee_feigenbaum Posted November 14, 2014 Share Posted November 14, 2014
Hi everyone,
I've been taking very amateur photos for a long time but am still very much a beginner. My family's recently moved to a new home and we're planning to print some of our favorite photos to decorate the walls of our home.
We have a few favorites from over the years that we're thinking of hanging on the walls of the hallway near the entrance to our home. The walls are painted a light gray with white trim, and we'd like the photos to present bold and vibrant.
We've done traditional framed and matted photos in other areas of the house, and are looking at frameless options for these photos.
I'm overwhelmed by the choices of paper vs canvas and mounting options available, and was wondering if anyone would have advice as to printing & mounting & hanging options that might do a good job at showing off the colors of these images:

I've been looking at a wide variety of canvas, paper-on-canvas, metal, etc. options online, and am at a loss for what might work well with these photos. Any suggestions?
many thanks in advance!
Lee
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Charles_Webster Posted November 15, 2014 Share Posted November 15, 2014
Make some small prints exploring the various options and see for your self. That will also let you test mat color without breaking the bank.
<Chas>
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

lex_jenkins Posted November 18, 2014 Share Posted November 18, 2014
Yeah, the centered compositions could be sorta Wes Andersonesque. They look fine to me.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
