stemked Posted October 5, 2014 Share Posted October 5, 2014
Hi fellow Pentaxians (not sure that's in a dictionary anywhere).

Wow! We sure had a lot of activity last week. Some really fantastic images there and fantastic discussions.

Regarding the 'number of images' discussion. We had once agreed to 3, but 4 seems perfectly fine. But I'm not going to shout at anyone who occasional go over, especially if the story drives more images. Of course, like Haig showed, sometimes that leads to a good time to start your own thread.

I'm still working through my Western Australia images (meaning the term is so busy I hardly have time to catch a breath)
My first image is out in Millstream National Park. It's hard sometime to get a sence of how isolated you can get in Australia. When I took this photo, along a road, mind you, I didn't see any people for two days. (All images with K3)

Millstream National Park, Western Australia. Pentax 20-35
This one was just plain funny. (as a biologist though, I have to point out that frogs aren't "other insects".

Sign, Caravan Park, Broome, WA
And finally a friendly Kangaroo.

Euro, Port Smith, Western Australia.

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

duane_mills Posted October 5, 2014 Share Posted October 5, 2014
Terrific POW last week. I haven't seen that kind of participation in the Pentax Forum since 2008. It also puts me on the hook to contribute as to not let fellow Pentaxians down. A few images that stood out: Haig's "Hummingbird" wowed us all. Matt's "Sunrise" was an outstanding capture. Howard's 'Sunglasses" series continues to be interesting as is captures what others see. Dave - Clara has grown up since you first posted her sports shots years ago - time passes too quickly. Here are three shots from this week:

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

MattB.Net Posted October 6, 2014 Share Posted October 6, 2014
One evening after work last week I could see things coming together for this shot or something like it so I took the truck up the 4x4 trail as quickly as I reasonably could and it paid off. Great show of light and color.
K-3 & DA* 16-50
<a title="IMGP1745-Edit by Matt Burt, on Flickr" href=" src="https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2945/15268496718_10f70bd786_z.jpg" alt="IMGP1745-Edit" width="640" height="426" />
.
<a title="IMGP1777-Edit by Matt Burt, on Flickr" href=" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3927/15220658227_7d2c2cb216_z.jpg" alt="IMGP1777-Edit" width="640" height="426" />
.
Then I shot this the next evening from my deck.
