david_l3
Yesterday in a rare streak of luck I got a Rolleicord V for the grand total of $15. It came with a green leather covering, and I happened to have a green neck strap to match. I wasted no time running a roll of 120 b&w film through it on a walk around the local lake. Here is the Rolleicord porn shot first.

chuck_foreman1
Wow what a bargain. I suspect any RolleiX at that price is a real bargain and it appears to be a good shooter! What is the significance of the green leather? I'm not up on the Rollei lore.
david_l3
Third party sellers have custom cut leather kits to be applied by users. Colors are somewhat popular, which explains the green choice by an unknown prior owner. I won't complain at that price. Besides, my wife loves it. Wish I could have that much wifely approval for an expensive camera or lens. Incidentally, it has the 75mm Xenar f3.5 lens which is what first caught my interest. The camera was probably manufactured in 1954 judging by the serial number.

rick_drawbridge
Lucky man, David. I rather like the green, though I would have preferred red lizard skin... Fine images, great tones. Thanks for the post.

tony_lockerbie
Wow, congrats on that bargain, and a good shooter too. Rolleicords are pretty special as you probably already know, and yours has green credentials too!
Don't be afraid to shoot a few wide open, the Xenar has a really nice look at 3.5.

Mike Gammill
Nice shots and great looking camera. The Rolleicords were a great value compared the more expensive Rolleiflexes, often they had the same lenses. I have a Rollelicord III that I must give some exercise. Thanks for posting.

steve m smith
I have a Rolleicord V. It's probably my favourite of my 70+ film camera collection and would be the one I would keep if I could only have one.

The Schneider lens is excellent. I'm always surprised by its sharpness.
