Seach your Junk boxes! Series VI Caps

<p>Hello all! I'm on the hunt for some Series VI lens caps i.e. screw-in types. I found two on the 'bay site but need a few more. I have a number of vintage lenses that I'm using with my Cambo 23SF 6x9 view camera and I'd like to leave the Series VI adapter rings in palce with a cap on when I store the lenses.</p>

<p>I could also use a Series V cap and a Series VII cap. Spiratone used to sell them back in the day for one.</p>

<p>Please take a gander through your junk boxes and see if you have any you can spare.</p>

<p>Why not measure them and buy Chinese snap-in plastic caps on eBay? They're often really cheap (i.e,< $1.00, including postage).</p>

<p>I tried that. ID for Series VI is 44mm, OD is 47.0 to 47.5mm depending on maker. None available.</p>

<p>Yeah, I use series 6 too and there is no cap for them, at least still available, 46mm is too big and 43mm too small and I've found nothing in between. </p>

<p>Ever thought of dropping an old trashed filter or a UV in the holder to protect the lens when not in use. I know I have some Series VI filters where the coating is damaged and no way I would ever shoot through them. Replace them with the good filter when you are ready to shoot.</p>

<p>You're right about there not being any 44mm snap in caps–sorry.</p>

<p>You might find rubber plumbing end caps at a hardware store that work; just take off the metal band.</p>

<p>True. But specs are for machinists; marketers like to use millimeters :). </p>

<p>It's more common now for vendors to refer to Series VI items as 44mm rather than "1 1/2 inch filters"</p>
