stuart_dall
After much deliberation, I have finally decided to look into buying the Nikon D800E.
This will be as a compliment to my Mamiya RZ67 ProII camera gear, which I adore, and can't even begin to think about selling on.
My question is:
Has anybody here had first hand experience using the RZ lenses on the Nikon, using the Fotodiox adapters, and if so, how do they perform, and are there any drawbacks?
I have the 50mm and 65mm ULD Mamiya lenses, along withe the 110mm, 140mm Macro and 250mm
My thought process is that if I was to buy a Zeiss 28mm to go with the Nikon, I would have a good range of lenses, without having to spend an absolute fortune.
iversonwhite
I have used a Fotodiox P67 to Nikon adapter. It seems to work fine if that helps.
IW
john tonai
How would you focus an RZ lens if it is mounted to a Nikon?
stuart_dall
Hi John,
The adapter has a built-in focusing helicoid, so the focusing is achieved via the adapter, as opposed to the bellows. And thanks Iverson.
leicaglow
Ive heard people criticize the mf to Nikon adapters for lens quality, saying that mf lenses dont have to be as sharp for mf film. I can say thats bs in the case of a Hasselblad adapted to a nikon with a fotodiox.

stuart_dall
I just did Iverson. No problems there then. Thanks for taking the time to reply, and I think my wife is going to see a bit of a dip in our bank balance shortly!
Regards,

Stu
celasun
I have a useless (Zeiss lens to Contax body) adapter from them. It fails to focus past 3 meters. They promised to replace the adapter and never did. They lied and cheated. I have no respect for them.

petr_odehnal
I'm using their adapter for RB lenses with Nikon and it's working great. (But of course, this is just piece of metal, nothing complicated).
carnagex_carnagex
I have the (AF confirmation) RZ to Canon, works fine, but shipped broken, after they sent me the wrong adapter (rb), and then my AF chip was busted, and the tripod mount was loose. Nothing a bit of epoxy and a little dremel can't fix. Great design, and If it wasn't for the poor build/quality control, Id recommend it. (if anything pick it up in person to make sure yours isn't screwed up).
