wogears
I suppose everyone will tell me that this can't really happen, but it makes for a nice (digital) video.
MichaelChang
Yeah, life without the Internet will be pretty miserable, and we can also substitute Internet with electricity, gasoline, plastics, for an equally entertaining video.

Going a step further, The History Channel made "Life after People":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XDbcMND7fY

steve_mareno1
Anything that can be made can be broken. All things are impermanent.

Now I want a Polaroid camera. The internet is sure good for one thing....pushing my desire buttons.
cyanatic
Yes, this came up in another thread. Anything can happen, but some are more likely than others. It is an interesting video.
richsimmons
I've had a taste of it all after hurricane Irene. Wasn't fun. After hurricane Sandy, trying to get gas was sometimes all but impossible. So we played Scrabble by candlelight.
john_robison3
Although quite old (early 80's?), the "Connections" series by James Burke is still quite thought provoking. Especially try to see the first episode.
m_stephens
As long as it was lost to everyone, everything would be fine. Remember, the Internet hasn't increased happiness, or anything like that. Life is no better today than in 1960.

What is far more likely than total loss, is "loss to individuals" as a type of punishment. When prison becomes to expensive of a punishment option, it is very likely that "disconnection" for a period of time - like some form of excommunication - will become a civil punishment.
