aplumpton
Eluard's example to his daughter has different interpretations. One might say it is decidedly open-ended.

Open-endedness is a cherished value or characteristic of many things. Indeed, it is a prerequisite for progress to occur.

My film medium format camera doesn't get enough use, but when it does it it allows probably as many open-ended approaches or directions as my little pixel reading camera or cellphone.
dfperrault
One idea I had was to create photographs on a piece of brittle material, like ceramic, or mylar that could then be shattered or cut up. You would end up with pieces of the material with a range of image sub segments, colors and tonal vales. You could then use these photographic shards to create other forms of art. These could be applied as outer layers to architecture, sculptures, pottery, abstract translucent windows (w/ the mylar pieces) and other type of art. You could even mix the photographic gravel with a binder to make structures as well.
